A Climate Week is a movement dedicated to climate-focused action, innovation, education, and networking that promotes advancing the discussion surrounding the global Climate Crisis and the ongoing Climate and Sustainability movements. Climate weeks are designed to get everyday people motivated and engaged to take small action and protect the planet from climate related issues impacting the planet. In the US, the most popular Climate Weeks are held each year in New York and San Francisco with other events spinning up in major metropolitan areas such as Los Angeles, DC, Houston, Boston, and, of course, the Pacific Northwest. Climate Weeks are also gaining momentum around the globe.

PNW Climate Week is the only regionally based Climate Week that spans across multiple US States in the Pacific Northwest, and 2 countries with Canada's British Columbia province. We've intentionally chosen a regionally focused path to enable the wider climate community in the Pacific Northwest to showcase their local strengths and build cross-regional connections.
The Pacific Northwest holds dozens of communities, from small towns to major metropolitan areas, filled with people who are actively involved in climate and eager to scale their impact. A regional week allows more voices to be part of the conversation and reduces barriers for people new to climate to join. We want everyone to come and learn about climate and we're not competing with other Climate Weeks around the globe. -
PNW Climate Week 2025 runs from 7/16-25. We know, it's more than a week, but we promise - it will be worth that much attention. Being regionally based, we've generally aligned events in each of our 3 metropolitan areas to flow smoothly through some dates of the week and fully support all PNW cities hosting events that support the climate movement when it makes sense for them.

Absolutely not! PNW Climate Week is (and all Climate Weeks are) for everyone. Whether you're an environmentally- conscious, climate curious, newbie or a team-member at a big company, PNW Climate Week is for you. We hope you leverage one of the numerous events to check-in with yourself and learn how you can make a difference to protect the planet. Most of our in-person events focus on the Seattle, Portland, and Vancouver metropolitan areas, but there's events scattered through Washington, Oregon, British Columbia, and virtual gatherings. We are dedicated to opening up a platform for more communities to get involved in the conversation.
-
PNW Climate Week is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. In 2025, we're all volunteers and 100% community- run with a passion for grassroots activism. There are lead volunteers across the PNW who are working to bring climate events through the broader PNW regions, with the main metropolitan areas being Seattle, Portland, and Vancouver, BC. You can check out the Team section on the PNW Climate Week website to learn who to contact in your area.

Currently, we have 70+ events in the event calendar for this year, with new events being listed every day. Last year there were 3,000 registrations across events. We’re expecting even more this year! While most events are free to attend, some events will have a nominal registration fee to secure attendance — it's 2025 and no one likes people who RSVP and don't show up. Pick and choose your events through the week. It’s possible that some events will be recorded, and some will focus on in-person networking.

We're building out a new experience with a dedicated team and brand strategy. We fully expect PNW Climate Week to continue in an evergreen capacity beyond 2025 and continue to involve more communities across Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia for climate focused conversations and action. To stay connected with the latest PNW Climate Week updates and events, follow us on LinkedIn and Instagram.
